I look forward to coming home and seeing my love-spam from Kirsten every day. It’s always fun and I try to guess what she’s going to talk about (it’s never the same thing twice). So today I thought I’d do something a little different with the LS and present a visual love-spam.

This week Kirsten_Faith asked us to write down 10 things we love so she could get to know us all a little better. It took me so long to write (what? she specifically asked for extended answers!) that I thought I’d post it here too. Let me know if you’ve written one yourself – I’d love to read it.

We were very productive little elves last night, slipping in and out of houses to decorate rooms and, well, people. But it’s all okay! We had Twitter Mummy’s approval – and encouragement!

You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

1. FIRST NAME
My first name is Rebecca. I spent most of my life getting only my full name, but over the past few years have been getting ‘Becca’ and ‘Bec’ a lot more, which I like!

2. AGE
22 – my birthday is in March.

3. LOCATION
I live in Penrith, which is about an hour (ish) from Sydney, Australia. Well, technically I live in a smaller part of Penrith called Glenmore Park – a suburb with more round-abouts and curly roads than I’ve ever seen anywhere ever.

4. OCCUPATION
*sniff* I’m no longer a full-time student – and I’m most saddened by this. I’ve spent the past five years as a student and working as a shelver at the university library. Right now I’m looking for work as a casual teacher and acting as an unofficial carer for my mother.

5. PARTNER?
Nope, single. Haven’t really had a whole lot of time for anything else the past few years, and to be perfectly honest, I’m such a homebody I don’t really have the chance to meet a lot of people.

6. KIDS?
No kids of my own. I love kids in general, however. We have some young kids in the extended family whom I love spending time with (always fun to be the weird babysitter!) and my mother always laughs at my playing with every little kid I run across in the shops or doctor’s waiting rooms.

7. BROTHERS/SISTERS
Yup. I have a 19 year old sister and a very-soon-to-be-16 year old brother. We’re all still at home, and some days we get along famously… and other days it’s best for one or more of us to leave the house ;)

8. PETS
I have a very neurotic cat named Scraps (cause she looks like she’s made up of lots of different coloured cats). We know she was supposed to be our cat because she’s crazy just like us. Like she meows and meows until we cave and give her some of our dinner, but won’t eat it unless we hold it for her. She likes Stargate, but prefers Star Trek (except for Worf, hates him – actually hisses at the screen). Oh, and she loves ice cream, but not if it has chunks.

9. LIST THE 3/5 BIGGEST THINGS GOING ON IN YOUR LIFE

- As I said, no longer a student, and now actually have to work. Scary.
- I’m having to face the possibility of my having Twitter addiction – I’m steadfastly ignoring the possibility.
- It’s Christmas time. I’m a bit of a Christmas junkie, so it’s like taking on a full time job for me.
- I’m planning global domination with Kirsten_Faith.

10. PARENTS
I have some. Hehe. My dad is very crabby, very bah-humbug-y about the upcoming season – but I couldn’t ask for a better dad. My mum is weird like me, which sure makes things easier! We spend most of our days together with me not working, and being her carer and all so we talk in our own shorthand most of the time.

11. WHO ARE SOME OF YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS?
I have three really close friends – one, Brett, who was a friend from school. We’ve known each other so well and for so long that we’re practically family.

My other two close friends are Renae and Wendy. Renae’s actually my cousin, but we’ve gotten far closer over the past few years and I can’t imagine what I’d do without her. Wendy I met through uni. All three of us work at the library and are in book club together. We have coffee dates and craft days regularly. They’re the best friends you could ask for.

Then, just to make things even better, I’ve had the most amazing time chatting to my new geek-buddies over on Twitter. You guys are awesome!

… you go with your sister to see New Moon and, while sitting in a room full of people oohing and ahhing over the two main leads – you perk up during the two seconds Christopher Heyerdahl is on screen.

I actually bounced up in my seat, causing my sister too look at me a little crazy like from her position firmly in Team Jacob. Oh well.

And then, just to further prove to myself that I’m Sanctuary-oriented (sounds nicer than ‘obsessed’) I flipped out when the vampires and werewolves started fighting. It got me thinking: who would win in a fight, Tesla or Henry? And why are they coming to blows in the first place?

Yesterday Kirsten shared with us how to make coffee, college style. Well I think she’s making the job far harder than it needs to be, and so I’m sharing with her, and you, how to make coffee the easy way.

Step 1: Decide you want some coffee.

Hmmm, I could really go for some coffee about now.

Step 2: Walk down the hallway to your sister.

Walking, walking, walking…

Step 3: Make puppy dog eyes and annoying whiney sounds.

*whimper whimper*

((Step 3b: Ignore sister’s face))

grrr!

Step 4: Wait for coffee to magically appear.*

Ta-dah!

I’m hunting for videos I haven’t seen before (so please, direct me to your favs if you’re so inclined) but couldn’t resist posting these. I’ve seen bits and pieces of it, but not all.

I’m sure you’ve probably seen it, but oh well, it’s fun anyways!

I walked in to talk to my mother in the study this afternoon – just in time to see Amanda Tapping on the screen. I was all “Hi Sam!” (as I always say) then my brain did this weird little dance:

“hehe, it’s Sam. She’s so cute. OOh long hair. She’s on the bridge of a ship – hey this is season five of Atlantis, hey I thought my mum was watching – OMG! THIS IS AN ADD! AN ADD AMANDA IS ON TV! STARGATE IS ON TV!!! IT’S ON TV!!! MUST WATCH!!”

All of this happened in about a two second timespan. I realise it was probably (no!) a big of an overreaction, but I’ve never actually seen a stargate add on TV before and so I was a little excited lol.
